Delightfully fragrant and prolific in bloom, ‘Josee’ is an upright, semi-dwarf deciduous shrub. With attractive rounded leaves of velvety dark green and masses of tubular pink to lavender-pink flowers, held in panicles from May and June, this sweet-smelling spring star often reblooms from summer into autumn.
- Garden care: When planting incorporate some well-rotted compost or manure and some mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the planting hole. In mid-summer remove the faded flower heads carefully using secateurs and avoid damaging the young shoots. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of organic matter or manure around the base of the plant in early spring.
