A wonderful feature plant, which has a strong architectural silhouette that lends itself well to jungle-style settings. Its broad, strap-shaped leaves are a dark olive green, but each has a pink trim to the outer edges. They form a fountain-like clump that adds structure, form and colour to the garden throughout the year. Occasionally, upright stems appear in summer bearing tubular burgundy flowers.
Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. In late spring remove any dead or damaged leaves and apply a balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted organic matter to stimulate vigorous new growth.
